Tell Me More...
A new and unusual, white-flowering variety coupled with a more traditional pink beauty to bring a captivating pair of small trees to your spring garden. Spectacular Cercis chinensis Collection offers flowers, produced on bare stems, followed by heart-shaped foliage which is retained until late summer or autumn. This duo is comprised of: 'Avondale' - AGM awarded variety with pink flowers from March to May, followed by purple foliage which matures to green and is held until the end of summer. A hardy variety which reaches a height of 4m with a spread of 2.5m. 'Shirobana' - with white flowers on bare stems in March and April, an exciting and fully hardy newcomer which matures to a height and spread of 3m and has the added benefit of stunning, buttery yellow leaves in autumn. Spectacular Cercis chinensis Collection prefers moist, fertile and well-drained soil in sun or partial shade with a south or west facing aspect and some shelter from strong winds. Both are deciduous trees which mature to their full height over 10-20 years.
