Tell Me More...
One of the longest flowering, Clematis 'Guernsey Flute' is truly exceptional. From May through to September, this incredible clematis produces large, pure white, star-shaped blooms with beautiful red anthers. The blooms almost cover the foliage and repeat flower into the autumn. Bred at Raymond Everson's Chanel Islands nursery, as each bloom starts to open, it almost seems to pause, looking like a champagne flute, hence the name, 'Guernsey Flute'. The blooms then continue to open fully flat. Cute and compact, reaching a mature height of only 1.2m, and spreading to approximately 90cm, this deciduous perennial is hardy to around -15 C. Perfect for borders or as a statement in containers on your patio where the prolific show of blooms can be fully appreciated. Clematis 'Guernsey Flute' prefers to be grown in moist, well-drained soil in partial shade. Easy to care for, cut back in the spring.
