An unusual, bushy and compact clematis which resembles a small shrub unlike the more familiar climbing varieties. Clematis tangutica ‘Little Lemons’ is a zingy coloured beauty with bright lantern-like flowers held on short branches from May to September each year. These intriguing blooms will nod gently from baskets, containers, window boxes and rockeries. ‘Little Lemons’ even looks fabulous woven through the front of a border. Flowers are loved by bees, butterflies or other pollinators who will pop by to take advantage of the long-lasting and dependable blooms. Flowers are followed by attractive, fluffy seedheads which can be left on the plant for autumn and winter interest. Clematis tangutica ‘Little Lemons’ prefers moist, well-drained soil of any kind except acidic. Position in full sun or partial shade and this fully hardy, deciduous shrub will reach a height and spread of 50cm. A tough little beauty which is ideal for adding colour to colder or more exposed gardens.
