Tell Me More...
A wonderful, new flowering alternative to common box. Rhododendron Bloombux 'Magenta' is a dwarf rhododendron which is an undemanding, pest resistant and stylish cross between two wild species - hirsutum and micranthum. With its rich, dark, evergreen foliage and alluring blooms, this beauty is happy in either sun or semi-shade. In spring, clusters of attractive buds emerge, opening in May and June to reveal an abundance of beautiful pink and white mottled blooms. Much loved by bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, who will be enticed into your garden.Immediately after flowering the foliage can be trimmed as you would a buxus (box) to create a flowering, low, evergreen hedge or distinctive topiary art in pots on your patio. Best of all, Rhododendron Bloombux 'Magenta' grows in almost all soils, providing they are moist and well-drained, and is fully hardy down to around -20 C, reaching a mature height of 30-60cm and spreading to 50-75cm.
