Tell Me More...
Wisteria frutescens 'Amethyst Falls' boasts an abundance of dense, highly fragrant purple and lilac, pea-like panicles during late spring and early summer. An incredible climber, when grown in a pot the habit stays compact, perfect for your patio, where you can sit and take in the full glory. Unlike other wisteria, which can take five years, the blooms will be produced after the first year. Your Wisteria will arrive with you on a trellis, ready to be trained as an espalier. This means the branches are being trained to grow flat supported by a lattice, making it ideal for growing against a wall. Wisteria frutescens Amethyst Falls prefers to be grown in well-drained soil in sun or part-shade. Reaching a height of around 3-5m when grown in the ground - a fully hardy perennial with an RHS rating of H5, so should not require winter protection across most of the UK.
