Tell Me More...
In the words of the renowned gardener Margery Fish “when in doubt, plant a geranium”. This is because geraniums are reliable, floriferous and will spread their colourful carpets from spring through to autumn each year whilst requiring very little in the way of fuss or maintenance. The interesting, palmate foliage of ‘Geranium Breeder’s Mix’ appears around March as if to herald the warmer weather and the awakening garden. The joyful, open 5-petalled blooms follow and each has intriguingly marked veins to accent the richness of the flowers, accompanied by contrasting stigma and stamen. Loved by bees and other pollinators, the undulating pillows of groundcover they create will contrast and collaborate with one another under shrubs, at the edge of paths or in containers for a welcome and uplifting display each year. ‘Geranium Breeder’s Mix’ prefers moist, well-drained soil of any type. Position in full sun or partial shade where plants mature to a height and spread of 60cm - offering weed-suppressing groundcover as they grow. Fully hardy, herbaceous perennials in a mix of blues, purples, pinks and whites.
