Tell Me More...
An exciting addition to the scabious range and one that has been developed to offer larger flowers and stronger stems which directly meet the requirements of the cut flower market. We can now offer these beauties to you for growing in your own cutting garden - or in containers, gravel gardens and herbaceous borders. From July to September intense purple, almost black buds, topped by a fascinating white 'pinhead' open and unfurl to give rich blackberry coloured, frilly petals. Like their namesakes, Scabiosa 'Scoop Blackberry' is just ripe for the picking. Alternatively, you can simply admire them in situ and watch the pollinators, particularly bees, bob through the swathes of blooms in search of a feast.Plant Scabiosa 'Scoop Blackberry' in well-drained soil with full sun. A half-hardy, herbaceous perennial which reaches a height of 60cm and spreads up to 30cm. Protect plants from frost over winter, either by lifting or mulching.
