Tell Me More...
A springtime favourite in many British gardens, 'Primula capitata mooreana' will reward you with wonderful disc-like blooms, each sporting a halo of rich purple flowers and proudly held aloft on slender stems.Originating in south-eastern Tibet and commonly known as the round-headed Himalayan primrose, you will find yourself marvelling at this perennial's unusual foliage. The erect stems and pale green wrinkled leaves are coated in sugary, white meal which is sure to embellish your garden's foliage with their silvery appearance.Particularly abundant in June, these vivid, scented blooms will sweetly perfume your garden between May and July. Mass planting Primula capitata mooreana will create a striking display, whilst also providing you with a fantastic source of cut flowers. This woodland beauty will thrive in moist, well-drained soil in semi-shaded beds. Plants will even grow contentedly in your bog garden or tucked alongside a riverbed. Once mature, your hardy Primula will extend in height and spread of 30cm.
