Tell Me More...
If you only have space for one more plant in your garden, we believe Penstemon 'Sour Grapes' may be 'just the ticket' for you. An award-winning 'must have' for any garden, which will bring sensational colour from June to October, and often longer. Tall stems hold an abundance of trumpet-shaped blooms in dreamy shades of purple, mauve and blue which blend together with ease. Penstemon 'Sour Grapes' is one of the insomniacs of the plant world. Summer arrives and your Penstemon starts flowering, summer ends and they are still blooming, autumn comes around and they still show no signs of tiring until the arrival of the first frosts. No need to battle against slugs and snails either, as Penstemon are not eaten by any garden pests and yet loved by bees. Furthermore, plants do not mind drought or heavy rain and happily settle in containers or borders, making excellent cut flowers too. Penstemon 'Sour Grapes prefers fertile, well-drained soil in full sun or part shade. Hardy, semi-evergreen perennials which reach a height of 75cm with a spread of 60cm.
