Standing out with a beautiful contrast, Penstemon 'Snow Storm' displays clusters of tubular, foxglove-like, bright white blooms which open from pale, pink-tinged buds. Held on strong, wiry stems over semi-evergreen foliage, blooms provide a magnificent display from May to October, often longer. Penstemon are so easy to grow and incredibly hard working. Oblivious of drought or rain and positively thriving in most soil conditions, in containers or borders and in sun or part shade. You will not need to battle against slugs and snails either, as Penstemon are not eaten by any garden pests and yet are much loved by bees. Penstemon Snow Storm was introduced in 1912 and has several pseudonyms, 'Burford White', 'Hidcote White', 'Royal White', 'Snowflake' and 'White Bedder' - it is a beauty regardless of which name you adopt. As a half-hardy perennial, Penstemon 'Snow Storm' may require a winter mulch in order to protect it from hard frosts if left in the ground.
