Tell Me More...
Penstemon Catherine de la Mare is a trully stunning plant and one of Harriets favourites. Many small lilac-blue-purple foxglove-like blooms are held in clusters on tall, strong stems from May to October and often longer, above tidy clumps of green foliage. Penstemon have everything, they are so easy to grow, flowering for over six months of the year. What other perennial is oblivious of drought or rain, is loved by bees but resists slugs and other pests, positively thrives in most soil conditions in containers or borders, sun or part shade and propagates so painlessly? Height 50cm (20). Spread 45cm (18). Hardy perennial.
