Tell Me More...
Oenothera lindheimeri Rosy Jane offers star shaped flowers, held on long, languorous stems for a dreamy haze to your summer planting. Flowers appear first in spring and crescendo in production from June to August, whilst continuing right through to as late as October (depending upon where you garden in the UK). Petals are white with a healthy, rosy blush of pink to the edges and the buds - hence the charming name for this variety! Oenothera lindheimeri Rosy Jane makes an ideal ground cover plant in your cottage garden, where foliage forms mound up to 60cm wide from which the flowering stems emerge to arch and sway, decorously, on the breeze - reaching heights of up to 90cm. In autumn the stems, and foliage, take on beautiful tints which intensify with the cold, so it is well worth leaving foliage in situ until the spring. Oenothera lindheimeri Rosy Jane is a hardy perennial which prefers to be planted in moist, well-drained soil which benefits from full sun.
