Magnolia loebneri Leonard Messel is a robust, adaptable magnolia which produces attractive lilac-pink and cream flowers. The mature size of this magnolia is 5m x 5m, which it will take up to 30 years to achieve. Ever since Pierre Magnol brought his namesake plant to Europe in the seventeenth century, there has been a consistent breeding programme to improve and create new magnolia varieties.
