Tell Me More...
Hosta Orions Belt brings you giant, heart-shaped leaves from March to November, which emerge blue-green with a wide creamy yellow margin which matures to white as the season progresses. Then, in June and July, strong stems emerge bearing trumpet shaped, pale purple flowers which are attractive to pollinators and make an excellent cut flower too. Huge leaves are deeply veined and have a sculptural wave-like impact in borders, woodland gardens or pots. Excellent for planting in jungle gardens or at the edge of a partially shaded pond, providing the ground is not waterlogged. Hosta Orions Belt prefers moist, well-drained soil in partial to full shade and is suitable for most soils, except chalky or sandy ones. A fully hardy, herbaceous perennial which does not need additional winter protection. Matures to a height of 70cm with a 1.2m spread and plants can be divided in spring if they become too large.
