Tell Me More...
As the name suggests, Helenium Wesergold displays bright, eye-catching golden flower heads which dazzle in the sunlight, dance in the breeze and look glorious planted in swathes. The unusual, yet characteristic shuttlecock-like flowers are produced all summer and into the autumn spreading vibrancy across the seasons. Held on tall strong stems high above the foliage, Helenium Wesergold is a perfect cut flower, lasting well in a vase. Versatile, whether planted with grasses in a prairie garden, in a cottage garden, or in a more formal design, Helenium are happy in containers and borders creating resplendent colour for months on end.Helenium is also known as Helen's flower - said to be named due to the central disc resembling the golden headdress worn by Helen of Troy. Also known as Sneezeweed because the leaves were once used in snuff! Prefers to be grown in well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. Helenium Wesergold grows outside happily with no additional winter protection, reaching heights of approximately 1.2m and spreading to 60cm.
