My new favourite is the aptly named Ever Red offers the most showy, deep-red strap-like flowers through winter and spring. Its foliage is equally characterful, with a dark almost black purple hue, it adds a distinguished charm to the garden. It thrives in semi-shaded locations, so think woodland or under deciduous tree canopies. Repeat through the garden to create a dazzling rhythm through repetition.
