Tell Me More...
Daphne sericea are a wonderful addition to your garden. Collina Gardens hails from Italy and Crete, grows to a height and spread of 60-80cm, is evergreen and beautifully scented. Flowering with beautiful pink blooms, this variety will enhance any garden making an all-year round impact. The rich pink flowers release waves of perfume and sit above the tidy foliage on this shrub. The blooms appear in April and May and the pink fades as the flowers mature. Colourful, though inedible, berries follow flowering. There is no surprise the sweet fragrance attracts early pollinators to your garden. Though this Daphne is a hardy with an RHS rating of H6, its origins are Mediterranean so prefers a position with the most sunshine and prefers fast draining soil, perfect for a rockery position. In most winters no protection will be necessary in the UK, although Daphne sericea Collina Gardens may appreciate some protection like a mulch, in exceptionally cold spells.
