Tell Me More...
Crocosmia 'Lucifer' is probably the most well-known of our crocosmia range and is a cormous, herbaceous perennial with mid-green, pleated, sword-like foliage which will create a fantastic structural impact in your garden from early spring through to the first frosts. Foliage naturalises and establishes as large mounds which bear intensely red trumpet shaped flowers with fiery hues from March through to October each year. Crocosmia 'Lucifer' originates from South African plains and is a hardy, drought tolerant plant which is both attractive to pollinators and makes an exceptionally good cut flower, with a long vase life. So dependable and beautiful is this vibrant wonder that it holds the RHS Award for Garden for its outstanding reliability and performance in the garden. Once established plants reach a height of up to 1.2m with an individual spread of 20cm.Crocosmia 'Lucifer' is a hardy plant which is equally at home in a container or herbaceous border. Plant in a site which has well-drained soil and benefits from full sun or part shade.
