Geranium

History and Origin:

Geraniums are a genus of approximately 300 species in the Geraniaceae family, native to Southern Africa. The genus name is derived from the Greek word ‘geranos’. Geraniums are also referred to as ‘Cranesbills’ by many in Britain and are a closely related genus to the Pelargonium, which containers some 280 species.

About:

Geraniums are perennials, biennials and annuals and are a classic garden favourite within the UK. They have distinct and slender 5-petalled flowers that are produced in a range of varying colours. Geraniums are versatile blooms and can be grown in both containers and within flower beds and borders.
