From a generous, loose, spreading mound of attractive, finely dissected foliage, Geranium pratense 'Azure Skies' sends up an abundance of flowering stems. These bring many eye-catching, double violet-blue flowers to delight both pollinators and passers-by. Blooms are longer lasting than the flowers of single varieties and these elegant, ruffled blooms last from May through until September. We love using Geranium pratense 'Azure Skies' as a fast-growing groundcover plant. Just perfect for weaving throughout the front of a border, or creating colourful edging to a path. For added delight, leaves turn a deep red in autumn, before dying back for winter. The blue of this cultivar is particularly effective as a contrast with warm orange tones, such as Geum 'Totally Tangerine', Digiplexis x valinii 'Firecracker', or Crocosmia 'Firestars Lava'. Geranium pratense 'Azure Skies' prefers a spot which benefits from rich, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. H&S: 60cm. Hardy perennial. .
