Transform a shady area into a shining treasure trove by introducing this sparkling gem, Geranium cinereum ‘Jolly Jewel Purple’. Bred by Dutch breeder, Marco van Noort, this is a compact Geranium which creates an incredible display. Intensely magenta purple blooms with pretty dark veining and dark centres, cover the neat, dense mounds of dark grey-green foliage commencing in May and lasting to September. Performing brilliantly in either borders or containers, Geranium cinereum ‘Jolly Jewel Purple’ offers weed suppressing groundcover, is slug and rabbit resistant, drought tolerant, oblivious of heavy rain and attractive to pollinators. Plant in moist, well-drained soil of any type except heavy clay. Position in full sun or partial shade. Foliage emerges in early spring and is retained until late autumn, dying back below ground over winter. Growing to an approximate height and spread of 30cm Geranium cinereum ‘Jolly Jewel Purple’ is a hardy (H5) perennial to be enjoyed in summer for years to come.
