Splashes of periwinkle blue will fill your borders from June to October with award winning Geranium Rozanne. This gorgeous hardy Geranium won the RHS Chelsea Flower Show Plant of the Centenary in 2013, and it is easy to see why. A low-growing, mound forming Geranium which is excellent for use as an attractive groundcover plant, filling spaces near to the front of your border. With regular deadheading, the blooms will keep coming for months on end, adding beauty, and attracting pollinators - especially bees. Cut back by two thirds after the first flush in summer to encourage yet more blooms. The flowers are saucer shaped, in the most beautiful shade of blue with deep pink veins which lead to a white eye at the centre. Plant Geranium Rozanne in full sun or partial shade in fertile soil which is moist and well-drained, and these wonderful plants will settle in quickly, forming neat mounds of attractive foliage and flowers, 30cm tall with a spread of 60cm.Geranium Rozanne is ever popular in traditional or cottage planting schemes, but it works equally well in a more contemporary design, perhaps at the edge of a path with taller plants behind such as Alliums and Grasses.
