Geranium ‘Karmina’ is a bubblegum pink version of one of our favourite species, Geranium x cantabrigiense. Developed at Cambridge University Botanic Gardens in the 1970s, this sterile hybrid forms a slowly spreading mat of glossy, semi-evergreen foliage which turns brilliant shades of scarlet during autumn and winter. The flowers, produced in abundance from late spring to midsummer, are large yet delicate with long, prominent anthers. Following this initial flush, they will often continue to bloom sporadically well into autumn. ‘Karmina’ is an attractive groundcover plant, perfect for forming a lush, colourful carpet beneath trees and shrubs, or lining a path or border edge. We also love seeing it used beneath roses; its colouring going particularly well with white and cream varieties such as ‘Sea Foam White’ or ‘Timeless Cream’. For best results grow in full sun to partial shade, in moderately fertile, moist, well-draining soil. H: 20cm S: 50cm. Hardy to between -15°C and -20°C.
