An overflowing effervescence of excited blooms, hailing from the mountains of southwest Europe, Arenaria purpurascens is a mat forming evergreen, which from April to June, bears masses of pale pink, star-like flowers, much to the delight of pollinators. Foliage is greyish green, linear to lance-shaped, providing cushions of delicate texture all year round. With a vigorous growth habit, this perennial will quickly cascade over walls, fill crevices, or cover ground in a rockery or dry border. An exceptionally easy, low maintenance source of late spring colour and evergreen interest. Also suitable for container growing. Prefers free draining, sandy poor soil in full sun, though will tolerate some shade. Avoid excessive winter wet to see this delightful plant fully thrive. H&S: 15cm x 30cm.
