Hydrangea

History and Origin:

Hydrangea is a genus of between 70 and 75 species within the Hydrangeaceae family that is native to southern and eastern Asia along with the Americas. Hydrangea are thought to date back to a period some 40-60 million years ago, as fossil finds have been discovered in North America. Hydrangeas were not brought to Europe until 1736.

About:

Hydrangea are deciduous or evergreen shrubs that have become a popular feature in gardens for hundreds of years. Each Hydrangea variety produces glorious blooms in varying shades and shapes, held upon slender stems and lush, green foliage.
