The ‘Marvellous Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Magical Edgy Green’ Duo’ is perfect for those of you seeking a hydrangea which will stop people in their tracks to gaze at the exciting colours, either in a vase or in the garden. Plant in borders, containers or in dappled shade at woodland edges where these lime accented flowers will ramp up the colour vibes. Also known as ‘Lacecaps’, plants have deeply veined pinnate leaves which emerge in March and are followed by flowers from July to September time. Available in both ‘Blue’ and ‘Pink’ the verdant foundations of both make the dramatic splashes of colour really ‘pop’ for you. Plant ‘Marvellous Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Magical Edgy Green’ Duo’ in moist, well-drained soil of any kind except chalk based. Bear in mind that neutral to alkaline pH will sustain the pink petals, whilst neutral to acid pH assists in keeping petals blue. Adjusting soil to suit is easy if you plant your hydrangea in a container, although an annual mulch of the appropriate soil once planted in the ground will assist too. Position in partial shade of any aspect and your hardy (H5) deciduous shrub should thrive for many years. Height and spread 1m.
