With its large, tightly packed domes of blooms from June through to September, Hydrangea macrophylla 'Wudu White' will create a stunning display either in open ground or a large container. Buds emerge with hints of green to them, adding zesty appeal, unfolding into illuminating balls of white so generous that just a couple of stems will fill a vase for your home. Hydrangeas are woodland plants, with macrophylla being native to East Asia. Also known as Hortensia this variety is a large, rounded, deciduous shrub with dark green oval leaves up to 20cm long. The larger flowers are actually sterile, and it is the smaller blooms which have the ability to reproduce. Plant Hydrangea macrophylla 'Wudu White' in moist, well-drained soil of any kind except chalk based. Position in full sun to partial shade of any aspect and your hardy (H5) deciduous shrub will reach a height and spread of 1.2m.
