Exciting and eye-catching, Echinacea Hot Papaya is a recent addition to the world of Echinacea, bred by a Dutch connoisseur of the species. Each double flower is pompom-like, is shades of orange-pink, with matching petals hanging like feathers. Opening with an almost florescent glow, the blooms mature to become subtler and spicier in colour. An extraordinary triumph of breeding, and will draw admiring glances from friends, neighbours, and passers-by. Loved by pollinators, bees and butterflies will visit for a feast, whilst you enjoy armfuls of cut flowers for your home. Once fully grown, little plantlets are produced so you will have more to share. Happy grown in coastal sites, prairie planting, wildlife gardens, in borders and containers. Echinacea are deer resistant. Echinacea are also known as the American Coneflower and has long been used by Native North Americans as a traditional herbal remedy for various ailments - including snake bites. Nowadays echinacea are commonly used to relieve symptoms of colds and flu. Echinacea Hot Papaya prefers to be grown in well-drained soil in sun but will cope in partial shade. Like all hardy perennials, Echinacea will thrive outside for you to enjoy for years to come with no winter protection required.
