Pretty pink blooms adorn this vigorous climber
Simple and stunning blooms cover the lush foliage of Thunbergia alata ‘SunEyes Rose Sensation’. Climbing with self-clinging tendrils, she will cover a trellis, obelisk or fence. From spring, through summer and well into the autumn, a profusion of rose-pink blooms with dark central eye are produced. A versatile beauty which can be grown as a climber, or trailing gracefully from a hanging basket, she will also sprawl and scramble if planted in the ground, creating dense mats of groundcover to prevent weeds.
Thunbergia alata ‘SunEyes Rose Sensation’ is native to the tropical regions of eastern Africa and also known as Black-eyed Susan Vine. The common name is thought to have come from a character in traditional ballads who searched for her long-lost lover whom she called Sweet William.
