A quintet of fabulously romantic flowers to burst forth from baskets, borders and window boxes beginning in late March and lasting right through to October time. Together they offer co-ordinating, rich, romantic colours to brighten your summer planting. Nemesias are long established favourites for the cottage garden and ‘Melody’ offers longer, lovelier blooms than ever before, along with a sweet, vanilla perfume to entice in the pollinators.
The ‘Illuminating Nemesia ‘Melody’ Collection’ comprises ‘Pink’, ‘Raspberry’, ‘Lilac Blue’, ‘Swansong’ and ‘Morello Ice’. All bring an abundance of miniature snapdragon shaped flowers in melodic tones and, what’s more, these exciting varieties have been proven winter hardy to around -15°C (H5). This means, despite their delicate structure, they are tough and tenacious enough to withstand colder temperatures than their predecessors and survive outside in winter throughout most of the UK.
Plants in the ‘Illuminating Nemesia ‘Melody’ Collection’ are also evergreen perennials so retain their verdant foliage all year.
All prefer well-drained soil of any kind except heavy clay. Position in full sun or partial shade with a south or west facing aspect. As a cautionary note, ensure that they do not become waterlogged as this will curtail their perennial abilities. Plants grow to a height and spread of 40cm.
