Osteospermum is a genus of flowering plants within the Asteraceae family, native to South Africa. They are commonly known as ‘African daisy, Cape daisy and Blue-eyed daisy. The genus name is derived from the Greek word ‘osteon’, meaning ‘bone’ and the Latin word ‘spermum’, meaning seed.
Osteospermum are annuals, perennials or sub shrubs with intensely fragrant and evergreen upright foliage with vibrant and showy daisy-like blooms.
