Tell Me More...
A new variety for 2025 - the perfect way to add rich colour and long-lived blooms to a border or raised bed, as well as ideal for filling baskets and containers. Blooms last for up to five months, from June to October, above semi-evergreen foliage which is retained all year in very mild parts of the UK. Commonly known as the Cape Daisy, Osteospermum ‘Señorita Double Violet’ is native to South Africa and likes dry sunny conditions once a good root structure has been established. Stems are long enough to be cut for a vase or posy – so you can add their colour indoors as well as out. Each flower has intensely coloured outer petals, alongside pom-pom interiors, which shift and change in hue as they mature. Hailed as a flamboyant, fuller bloom than many other osteospermum. Plant Osteospermum ‘Señorita Double Violet’ in well-drained soil of any kind except heavy clay. Position in full sun or partial shade with a south or west facing aspect. Once established these tender (H2) perennials are drought tolerant and reach a height and spread of 20cm.
