Tell Me More...
A fantastic and incredibly floriferous beauty, Osteospermum ecklonis ‘Dalina Compact Orange Brique’ is sure to add pizzazz to your borders, rockeries, containers and baskets from June to October. With large, daisy-like flowers produced in abundance, the glowing orange petals radiate forth from a stunning dark eye above a mound of verdant foliage which is retained from February to November. A relative of the sunflower, Osteospermum originate from Southern Africa, with the common names of the African or Cape Daisy. Plants are drought tolerant once established and attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinators. When cut, the blooms will give a colourful zing to your indoor floral arrangements. Plant Osteospermum ecklonis ‘Dalina Compact Orange Brique’ in well-drained soil of any type except clay, which is too moisture retentive for these beauties. Position this half-hardy, semi-evergreen perennial in full sun with a south or west facing aspect. Dependent upon where you garden in the UK plants may need protection, particular when temperatures dip below -5°C. Alternatively, grow as an annual.
