The blooms of Hydrangea paniculata ‘Sundae Fraise’ are a joy to watch as they transform from pale green when they start to bloom in July, through shades of white, soft pink, and finally reaching a crescendo of rich strawberry pink in autumn. Blooms are borne on elegant panicles, which is how this family of Hydrangeas earns its name ‘paniculata’.
This is a bushy and compact variety with an upright growth habit, reaching an eventual height and spread of up to 1.5m within 10 years. Perfect for planting in the middle to rear of the border as a wonderful backdrop to other plants. This cultivar also looks wonderful in a large container, just ensure that the soil remains moist.
