It is said that ‘diamonds are a girl’s best friend’ – hence everyone falls in love with the beauty of Hydrangea paniculata ‘Diamantino’. You will be amazed by the abundance of large, densely packed flowerheads that adorn lime-green foliage from June to September. The flowers seem to glint, like diamonds, in the sunshine. Blooms emerge in a creamy-white colour with a lime tinge and, as they mature, they take on soft pink hue which intensifies into autumn.
Hydrangea paniculata ‘Diamantino’ is a wonderful way to fill a gap in the border or fill a strategically placed container and flowers will attract the bees and butterflies into the garden too. If planted in pots, just keep your ‘Diamantino’ well-watered and it will be a star feature each summer and autumn, reaching a height and spread of around 1.2m.
Plants have an upright growth habit – producing strong, straight stems which make an excellent inclusion in a vase. They prefer a rich, moist, well-drained soil of any type except chalk
