Tell Me More...
Helleborus are one of the most popular winter flowering blooms and have a common name of the 'Lenten Rose' as flowers can often be seen flourishing around Easter. They will lift the gloomiest of spaces with their zesty green palette. As a fully hardy perennial Helleborus is a reliable returner that will naturalise if given moist, well drained soil and partial or full shade. Often praised for its tolerance of drought and ability to cope with neglect, it will bloom through cold winter snow when most other plants are dormant. With their sturdy stems and clump-forming habit these seasonal delights should have their spent leaves trimmed back prior to flowering as the new foliage will appear shortly afterwards to keep Helleborus look lush throughout the spring and summer. Plants will mature to a height and spread of 35cm.
