Tell Me More...
Let the natural charms of Helleborus x hybridus 'Double Ellen Mix' tempt you out into the garden for a closer look. The flowers bring a magical touch to your garden during the winter, whilst most other plants slumber. Every winter, large, double, cup-shaped flowers are produced with a such a dainty appearance which seems to defy nature by peeking out through the winter snow. The glossy dark evergreen foliage highlights the beauty of the dappled flower. Excellent cut for arrangements in your home, you will also be able to enjoy them inside. Known as Lenten Rose, because of flowering from late winter until spring, Helleborus are related to the buttercup family and a great source of food for the very earliest emerging pollinating insects.Deer and rabbit tend to leave Helleborus x hybrius 'Double Ellen Mix' alone, while they prefer to be grown in moist, well-drained soil in dappled shade. Growing to a height and spread of approximately 35cm, Helleborus are fully hardy and perennial, so you can enjoy them in containers or borders year after year.
