A perfect way to add charm and charisma to your winter and spring planting. Helleborus x hybridus ‘Single Pink Dark Spotted’ is a new arrival with us for 2024 and bears beautiful, almost heart-shaped petals (or sepals) speckled with darker markings and accented by a central, creamy green corona. The nodding, six-petalled flowers are borne from January through to April above robust, dark, glossy palmate leaves which create generous, gap-filling interest for most of the year. Helleborus’ history can be traced back to ancient times when Greeks and Romans used them medicinally. In the Middle Ages, blooms were a popular choice for religious ceremonies due flowering around Lent (hence the common name). Helleborus underwent a surge of interest in the 1960s when many new varieties became available and extensive breeding continues to this day. Helleborus x hybridus ‘Single Pink Dark Spotted’ prefers moist, well-drained soil of any kind except sand based. Position in partial to full shade,
