Garden Inspiration
Tell Me More...
An eye-catching, relatively new variety of nemesia which brings delicate looking, pale lilac blue blooms along with a surprisingly robust nature which belies its looks. Nemesia ‘Melody Lilac Blue’ flowers prolifically from March to October each year and its cooling tones look fabulous in window boxes, baskets and containers. Plant alongside other blue, purple and white hues for a cooling tones or select flowers from the warmer end of the spectrum for a bit of summer sizzle, alongside a sweet, vanilla perfume. Nemesia ‘Melody Lilac Blue’ produces flowers which closely resemble miniature snapdragons (antirrhinum) and, what’s more, these exciting varieties have been proven winter hardy so, despite their delicate structure, they are tough and tenacious enough to survive outside in winter throughout most of the UK. Nemesia ‘Melody Lilac Blue’ is classified as a hardy, evergreen perennial. It prefers to be planted in rich, well-drained soil of any type except clay. Plant in full sun or partial shade and avoid waterlogging as this will curtail the plant’s perennial abilities. Reaches a height and spread of 40cm.
