Demure flowers with peppered, pincushion interiors surround decorous bracts. Astrantia major 'Primadonna' is a newcomer to our range and offers palmately divided green foliage from March through to October each year which is a decorous means of filling borders, containers and open ground. From June to September the rich pink and red flowers are borne offering dusky hues with flashes of richer colour - not only great in the garden, fantastic as a cut flower for your home too. A cottage garden favourite, Astrantia are also well suited to modern planting schemes and look particularly good in wildlife gardens or at the edge of a woodland area.Astrantia major 'Primadonna' grows to a height of 75cm with a spread of up to 60cm. Plants prefer a spot which benefits from moist, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. A hardy, herbaceous perennials which does not need any winter protection throughout most of the UK.
