Helleborus orientalis 'Single Yellow,' commonly known as Lenten Rose, is a striking fully hardy perennial celebrated for its delicate, pale yellow flowers. Typically blooming in late winter and early spring, it will brighten gardens during a season when very few other plants are in bloom. It’s cup-shaped flowers, often with a hint of green or light maroon speckling, stand out against the lush, dark green foliage, which remains evergreen in most climates. Not only beautiful, but very resilience and virtually maintenance free, Helleborus orientalis 'Single Yellow' thrives in partial to full shade, making it an excellent choice for woodland gardens or shaded borders. It prefers well-drained, humus-rich soil and, once established, is relatively drought-tolerant. Moreover, it is deer-resistant and generally remains free from pests and diseases. Beyond their garden value, Hellebores are also cherished for their longevity, with clumps expanding slowly over time, providing a lasting presence in the landscape.
