Garden Inspiration
Tell Me More...
Festuca glauca Elijah Blue offers stunning mounds of blue-green, thread-like, evergreen foliage which not only enhance your planting, they also create fantastic weed-suppressing groundcover. Short spikes of fluffy, blue-green flowers appear in summer, which fade to buff with age and look enchanting if left over autumn and winter to capture the magical glimmer of frosted mornings. Ornamental grasses make a super contrast against other perennials. Not only do they introduce movement into the garden they soften hard landscaping and act as colourful, foliage accents to your planting. This reliable versatility allow them to thrive in borders and containers as well as making them perfect for sensory gardens. Festuca glauca 'Elijah Blue' has been given the Award of Garden Merit by the RHS for outstanding performance in the garden. Growing to a height and spread of around 30cm, 'Elijah Blue' is happy in a sunny spot in well-drained soil.
