An exciting new arrival for 2025 – this hardy (H4), evergreen perennial offers bubble-gum pink blooms emerging from paper like calyces throughout July and August each year. Flowers are held on slender, wiry stems which shoot forth in graceful curves amidst the tall, sculptural, grasslike leaves. Stems are perfect for cutting to add to a vase, whilst the open flowers will attract in bees and other pollinators for an ‘easy access’ feast. Dierama ‘Pink Rocket’ is perfect for bringing height to a border, where it will reach up to 90cm tall with a spread of around 40cm. Plants do best in the ground as they like to have deep roots which will not fare so well in containers. Provide each with moist, well-drained soil of any kind except heavy clay. Position in full sun or partial shade with a south or west facing aspect and ensure that they do not sit in winter wet corms may well rot away as a consequence.
