A new arrival for 2024 which brings you a compact and graceful shrub with open, gently arching branches. From May to June these are adorned with pretty clusters of starry pink and white blooms which are pollinator and wildlife friendly and have a sweet, enchanting perfume. Stems are perfect cut for a vase indoors – where you can also enjoy this fragrance – and perfect as low growing path edging or in a focal container on a patio. The simple, elegant foliage of Deutzia x hybrida ‘Tokyo Delight’ emerges in spring and remains until the first frosts, turning to shades of purple as it matures. Deutzia x hybrida ‘Tokyo Delight’ prefers moist, well-drained soil of any kind except acidic. Position in full sun or partial shade with any aspect and this fully hardy (H7), deciduous shrub will mature to a height and spread of 70-75cm.
