Daphne ‘Perfume Princess White’ is a recently developed hybrid which was discovered as a chance mutation from the pink flowering variety ‘Perfume Princess’. Similar in so many ways, with the exception that this variety bears large, snowy white flowers from January to April each year. Collectively daphne are much admired for their ability to bloom and perfume when little else is flowering in the garden and this beauty will not disappoint with its delicate enhancement of your winter and spring planting. This is a dense, bushy and upright evergreen shrub with glossy, pointed leaves which enhance the flowers and provide valuable gap-filling interest either in a border, raised bed or container. Daphne ‘Perfume Princess White’ prefers a spot in well-drained soil of any kind which benefits from sun or partial shade – ideal for a woodland edge or other dappled shade. A hardy shrub (H4) which needs no additional winter protection throughout most of the UK and reaches a height of 1.5m with a spread of 1m.
