Tell Me More...
With a unique appearance, Daphne odora Rebecca is certain to create an impact all year round in your borders and containers. She will brighten up your garden all winter, spring and through to the end of summer. Rebecca was discovered in Devon by nurseryman Steve Watson in the 1980's, yet only recently became available. In late winter and spring, clusters of small purple buds develop, each opening to reveal highly scented pink flowers which even on the coldest of spring days, creates clouds of sweet perfume to entice you outside. Colourful berries follow in summer. Attractive, leathery, glossy emerald-green leaves with an extra wide creamy-yellow margin form a wonderful, tidy, rounded habit, looking quite stunning even when not in bloom.Daphne Rebecca is a low maintenance plant, requiring very little attention. She prefers to be grown in well-drained soil in sun or part shade. Growing to a height and spread of approximately 1.2m, she is a hardy perennial for you to enjoy for years to come, flourishing outside in usual UK winters, although may appreciate some protection in exceptionally cold spells.
