Masses of stunning tulip shaped, nodding blooms in regal purple shades with hints of plum and paler lilac are borne from July to September. Sophisticated blooms reveal a crown of golden stamen to the interior when buds open wide in the sunshine. Clematis texensis ‘Prince William’ will happily grow in pots or open ground - anywhere it can clamber up and shine forth, like shining jewels in your garden. The texensis varieties of clematis are native to Texas in the USA, as the name indicates. They naturally produce masses of smaller flowers with decoratively twisting petals, mostly in groups of four like Clematis texensis ‘Prince William’. A Group 3 clematis which flower later in summer on new season’s growth. Plant in a moist, well-drained soil of any kind, preferably with an alkaline or neutral pH, where it benefits from full sun or partial shade.
