Multitudes of tulip shaped, elongated flowers held on long, strong stems bring vibrant reddish pink, colour from July to September. Clematis texensis ‘Princess Diana’ is an almost luminous beauty which, like its namesake, simply cannot be missed. Flowers are up to 6cm in length, with brighter, more intense margins, crowned by cream and maroon stamens. A truly special example which has been selected by the RHS for its Award of Garden Merit due to a dependable and outstanding performance in the garden. Plant in pots or open ground and provide support, in the form of trellis, a frame or a tree, for ‘Princess Diana’ to clamber up and dazzle, like crown jewels, in your garden. As a texensis variety of clematis, this beauty hails, generations back, from Texas in the USA.
