Tell Me More...
A new, exciting and unusual, non-climbing clematis which is prized for its showy flowers. Clematis integrifolia displays lavender blue, bell-shaped flowers, often with a quirky twist to their sepals, from June through to September. Flowers are suspended on multiple, strong, upright stems above rich green, elliptical leaves which are borne from April to November. Excellent as weed-suppressing groundcover. Plants are tendril free, hence they do not cling and climb, yet are perfect for adding vibrant hues to borders and containers. Once flowers fade, intriguing fluffy, slivery seedheads follow for further decoration. Both blooms and seedheads can be cut for vases and floral displays.Clematis integrifolia prefers to be planted in rich, moist, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. A hardy, herbaceous sub-shrub which matures to a height of 1.2m, with a spread of up to 1m. Both foliage and flowers will die back over winter and spent foliage should be tidied away in early spring when new shoots begin to appear.
