Stokesia are a genus of plants within the Asteraceae family, native to Southern America. They are commonly referred to as ‘Stokes aster’. The genus name was given in honour of Jonathan Stokes, an English botanist in the late 18th and early 19th century.
Stokesia are perennial plants producing evergreen foliage and bright, fluffy vibrant flowers accompanied by a pincushion of feathery disk florets.
